Dear Parents
I hope everyone is well. I would like to update you on the activities of the Friends for
this term, in the hope that you will put these events in your diaries and come and
support us.
Coffee mornings
We are having two coffee mornings this term. The first is on Friday, January 29th at
9.00 am or immediately after Assembly. The Library is busy on this day as it is the 11+
Scholarships and so we are trying a new venue of the Pre-Prep Library (direction signs
will be put up for non-Pre-Prep parents). There will be two stalls present – Anne
Worrallo-Hickman selling Raging Bull sports wear and Philippa Lowe selling her home
produce.
The second coffee morning is being hosted by Phillippa Cook at the Headmaster’s
house, supported by the Friends. This will be on Friday, March 19th, again
immediately after Assembly.
Valentine’s disco
In response to feedback from the School Council, we are having another of the ever
popular school discos. The theme is Valentine and is to be held on Saturday, February
6th in the school dining room. This is for the Prep school children; Years 3-5 from
5.00 pm to 6.30 pm and Years 6-8 from 7.00 pm to 9.00pm. Tea and coffee will be
available in the Library for any parent who wishes to stay while their children have
fun. We hope to make the school disco a termly event, as the children seem to enjoy
them so much.
Voices Unlimited contemporary choir
We thought that we would try something new. Voices Unlimited is a 100 strong
Worcester based choir performing popular contemporary music by Elvis, Michael
Ball, Seal, U2, David Essex, Ronan Keating, Natasha Beddingfield and other well
known singer/songwriters. They are going to come and sing for us at an informal
bistro-style evening in the Memo Hall on Saturday, March 20th, at 7.30 pm. There
will be a Friends’ bar throughout the evening and a buffet supper available during the
interval. Tickets will be available from Mrs Bateman in the school office at £5 per
head. The buffet is optional at £2.50 per head (pay on the night).
School play bar – March 23rd and 24th
Don’t forget your pocket money at the school play for your interval drink from the
Friends’ bar.
